After you’ve lost everyone you’ve ever loved, could you find the courage to love again?

Grief has been Miss Liliana Spencer’s constant companion for a decade. It stole her mother, her siblings, and her father. Then it stole everything else, leaving her destitute and without prospects. When Liliana’s childhood friend tries to play matchmaker, no one is more surprised than Liliana when it works. But can the dashing viscount see past her broken family and non-existent dowry?

The Viscount of Thornwood had been the poor relation until unexpected circumstances foisted the title, responsibility, and need for an heir on him. But he doesn’t know how to find a wife that wants him and not his title. Then another twist of fate sends the perfect lady riding across his lands.

As Liliana searches for her own happily-ever-after, someone wants Thornwood dead. Someone who will stop at nothing. Together, Liliana and Thornwood must overcome their old fears and figure out who is trying to kill him. And they must do it before the killer strikes again.

Works In Progress

From Dukes Spies and Lies

Been working on a lot, and I thought I would share a little what I have been up to.

Taken by the Captain is the fourth book in Dukes, Spies, and Lies, and is now available. After Captain McGregor helped Marquardt and Violet, then Sophie, it seemed he should get his own happily-ever-after.

Working through edits on Enticed by the Viscount. Particularly excited about this one as all three bosom bows, Lady Aurora, Lady Violet and Miss Liliana will now all have their happily-ever-afters.

And I’ve been drafting out a story for Lady Aurora’s brother.

As for the Seven Lords for Seven Ladies series, I hope to have more to share on that in a few weeks!

In the meantime, I am working through a short Samhain story. As I mentioned in my newsletter, Regency England didn’t celebrate Halloween. But people in Ireland and Scotland did have some fun rituals around Samhain.

I hope you are all having a terrific fall!

Progress Report

It’s been pretty quiet around here as I am working through final edit now on Taken by the Pirate. It was a lot of fun to write, and I hope you enjoy it. I am learning that I like sassy heroines. They do such a lovely job of keeping the heroes on their toes. *grin*

It is taking a bit longer than expected as I was one of the unlucky ones that ended up with long COVID. Though I am glad to finally be through it. I had heard about the fatigue and brain fog, but it was something else entirely to live through it.

I am also working through edits on Lord of Redemption, though not final edits. And my cover artist is running into scheduling troubles. I don’t want to settle on this as Lady Camilla deserves a beautiful cover. I wish I had something to share, but the artist hasn’t been able to start work on it. Hopefully soon.

As we all head back into winter, there will be a lot more time for reading and writing. I look forward to checking in on old characters and giving their bosom bows the happily-ever-after they deserve!

I will have more news soon!

How far will she go to get the one thing she most wants but can never have?

Miss Jemma Jennings made a mistake and fell in love with a man she could never have. No matter how many afternoons they spent together as children or how much she enjoyed stealing a kiss from him, earls don’t marry their steward’s daughter. Not even when those daughters grow up and become one of the king’s spies. And especially not when they are tasked with solving the murder of a wealthy and influential countess. A countess who married the earl Jemma still loves.

Lord Laurence Haddington, eleventh Earl of Essbury, has always done what he’s supposed to do, including marry the “right” woman from the “right” family. Which hadn’t included his steward’s daughter. Even if he’s been in love with Jemma since he’d been in short pants. Then Laurence’s wife is murdered, and when Jemma comes to his aid, he finds himself falling in love with her all over again.

It’s a second chance at love, but second chances aren’t free. Those who killed Laurence’s wife will do anything to keep their secrets. Even if Jemma can keep Laurence alive, nothing can close the gap between an earl and a spy. Nothing, except maybe love.
